A Kelowna development company wants to contribute to the revitalization of Kelowna’s North End.

Faction Projects Inc. has submitted a plan to the City of Kelowna to turn an old warehouse at 760 Vaughan Ave. into a busy business hub.

Faction development manager Alec Warrender wrote in a letter to the city for a text amendment that the redeveloped warehouse would “complement rather than compete with the exciting changes happening downtown and in the neighbourhood.”

Warrender added that the site will be a “unique place due to its transitional context between the Downtown Urban Centre and the North End industrial area.”

The types of businesses Faction sees filling the space are a wide variety, including a primary liquor establishment, offices, tech companies and retail.

Faction envisions three phases to the project, the second of which would include a new building that would be filled with commercial and light industrial businesses.

Details have yet to be determined for the third phase.

The issue will be discussed on Monday during the City of Kelowna’s weekly council meeting.
