Oh baby, is Hotel Zed ever upping the ante this year for its annual Valentine’s Day promotion.

As has been the case for the last six years, the unique hotel chain, which has locations in Kelowna and Victoria, will be offering its Nooner package on Feb. 14. You and your loved one can rent a room at Hotel Zed for four hours, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., for just $59.

There could be a bonus this year, however. If you welcome a baby into your family nine months after your Nooner experience, you will receive a free Valentine’s Day stay at Hotel Zed for the next 18 years.

Naturally, it’s called the Nooner Baby Maker deal.

“I never want to get a lame Valentine’s gift,” Hotel Zed president and CEO Mandy Farmer said in a press release. “We created the Nooner to offer a Valentine’s Day to remember. With the added possibility of a free stay for the next 18 years, a romantic Valentine’s night on us might become a new annual tradition for lucky couples this year. Definitely beats a stale box of chocolate or another flower bouquet!”

The clever marketing move is not just for traditional births either. Hotel Zed prides itself on its inclusivity, so the package is open to everyone regardless of gender expression, gender identity, and sexual orientation.

“As long as a new child has been welcomed into the family nine months after a Valentine’s Day 2020 check-in, they can count on 18 more years of getting down in K-town (Kelowna), Victoria, or soon Tofino for a free stay on February 14 at Hotel Zed,” according to the release.
