The Okanagan Symphony Society has decided on its new executive director.

Geraldine Parent will start in the position on Nov. 4. She comes to the role with 25 years of experience in the arts, including administration and project management in diverse environments and at senior management levels.

She has been the Kelowna Community Theatre manager and Chamber Music Kelowna operations co-ordinator since returning to the Okanagan in 2017. Prior to that she spent 12 years in the Lower Mainland, serving as Arts Umbrella’s programming director the City of Burnaby’s arts services manager.

Parent moved to B.C. in 1996 to become the Penticton Art Gallery’s director and curator.
