Lot changes tied to Aqua
Wayne Moore - Sep 29, 2019 - Biz Releases

The Cook Road parking lot will get a new look—the condition of a development permit issued to the Mission Group for the Aqua Resort.

The city and Mission Group agreed to a land swap to accommodate the development.

As part of the agreement, the developer will cover the cost of construction of Cook Road, expansion of the parking lot and relocation of washrooms.

At the present time, the Cook Road boat launch can accommodate 108 vehicles, including 61 trailer parking stalls and 47 parking lot stalls.

The new configuration will add 20 spaces in a combination of boat staging, trailer parking, accessible and regular vehicle parking stalls.

The lot will include the addition of nine boat staging stalls, two accessible stalls and 25 on-street parking stalls.

To make room, nine trailer parking and seven parking stalls will be lost.

There will also be several functional design changes, including increased length and width of trailer parking stalls, increased drive aisle width to allow for ease of pulling in and backing out and a staging area and dedicated emergency access lanes to reduce stacking along Cook Road.
