LinkPoint Technology Group earlier this week completed the acquisition of privately held CONNECT Okanagan Telephone Ltd. and CONNECT Information Technology Solutions Inc., an Okanagan-based telecommunications and managed IT support provider primarily focused on small-to-medium business markets.

CONNECT, which was founded in 1986 as Okanagan Telephone, has been providing innovative telecom products, services and solutions to businesses and organizations throughout B.C.

As part of the deal effective Aug. 30, LTG welcomed new staff, including CONNECT’s senior leadership team: general manager Troy Schalm, telecom operations manager Terry Bulman and business development manager Brian McArthur.

“The recent acquisition of CONNECT by LinkPoint Technology Group is a big step forward for CONNECT. Our clients now have access to a more diverse range of IT solutions,” general manager Troy Schalm says. “In addition to this, the CONNECT technical staff now has access to a large number of highly trained staff at LinkPoint in Vancouver.

“Unwavering commitment to our history of 35 years of unbeatable customer service while continuing to add technical expertise is exactly how CONNECT will stay relevant to the clients we serve.”

Continuing its growth plan to expand and enrich its managed services portfolio, this acquisition represents a large expansion into the Thompson Okanagan region for LTG. With LinkPoint’s leading technology (IT solutions) and management consulting, CONNECT’s resources and accounts will have access to seamlessly managed consulting, monitoring and unified support solutions to deploy and deliver all services more rapidly and efficiently.

“LinkPoint is thrilled to welcome the CONNECT family into its organization,” LTG CEO Kyle Sarwal says. “Our collective customer base will benefit from this broadened range of service, ability and expertise.”

The acquisition supports LinkPoint’s continued commitment to introduce an industry-leading services organization to its growth strategy, strengthening its platform and furthering its service offerings. The company is expected to benefit from robust industry trends, including increased share of managed IT services and growing cloud adoption.

Under the terms of the agreement, the acquired assets will be operating as a subsidiary of LinkPoint Technology Group of companies and leverage collective resources like system, processes and management from LTG’s group of companies, including LinkPoint IT Solutions Ltd.
