The City of Kelowna is encouraging those with a farm or property larger than one hectare to rent a mower or chipper to receive a rebate.

Residents who rent one of these items for the purpose of fuel reduction or disposal of small volumes of wood can receive a rebate of up to $500. The City says a small volume of wood means less than four piles in size. Rebate money is limited to 80% of the daily/weekly/multi-day rental of equipment with one rebate per applicant.

Residents interested in applying for the rebate can apply online on the Regional District website.

Rebates are granted on a first-come, first-served basis and funding is based on availability.
