Fitzpatrick Family Vineyards was the only Okanagan winery to strike gold in the sparkling category during this year’s WineAlign awards.

There were one platinum and nine gold medals awarded in the category. Fitzpatrick, which is just south of Peachland off Highway 97, was the only one to make the golden grade after amassing 91 points from the judges.

The WineAlign National Wine Awards of Canada are held each year. This year there were more than 1,800 entries over nine categories, and 21 of Canada’s top wine judges spent seven days in June determining the best of the bunch through blind taste tests.
