Two of Kelowna’s heavier hitters in the orchard and beverage business have teamed up to create a new apple soda company.
Farming Karma Fruit Co., which is located at 1160 McKenzie Rd. in Kelowna, is a collaboration between apple farmer Karma Gill and The Vibrant Vine and Frequency Winery co-founder Anthony Lewis. They have known one another for more than 10 years and met when Gill leased an orchard from Lewis on what is now the Vibrant Vine Estate Vineyard.
They bumped into one another last year, and Gill asked Lewis if he knew how to make apple soda. Gill’s son Avi and daughter-in-law Binny are also involved in the venture.
Farming Karma’s home base features a wide variety of interesting amenities aside from the main apple soda business, including a dog park, a disc golf course and an RV park.
The new business held its grand opening earlier this month.
