A flashy new development on Okanagan Lake in Summerland’s Lower Town has received its development permit from council.

Council gave final approval Monday evening to bylaw and official community plan amendments, and signed off on the Lakeshore Drive project.

The development is anchored by two six-storey residential terraced towers featuring swimming pools on the patio of each unit.

The project will also include a separate building fronting Lakeshore Drive that consists of 11-units of ground floor commercial and eight “resort condos” above.

Councillors Monday were briefed by district staff on the parking and landscaping plans for the project.

The development will see the waterfront restored to a riparian area with native plants and two-metre wide public pathway.
