The Armstrong Library will dedicate a meeting room to David Askew during a ceremony later this week.

The David Askew Meeting Room will recognize his contribution to the relocation and renovation efforts that were completed on the Armstrong Library in 2017. The meeting room is used by the library staff and the community to host events, programs and activities.

“The renovations and the move that the Armstrong Library underwent has been well received by the community,” Okanagan Regional Library marketing and communications director Michal Utko said in a press release. “We regularly see comments from patrons and staff about how excellent of a resource this new space is.

“The Armstrong Library wouldn’t be what it is today without Mr. Askew’s contributions and donations. Everyone at ORL appreciates Mr. Askew’s generosity, and we are proud to dedicate a meeting room in his name.”

Thanks to Askew’s contributions, the Armstrong Library added meeting and study rooms, education-focused resources, computers, Internet access points and space.

The dedication ceremony will take place at the library on Thursday at 11 a.m.
