Saturday is International Museum Day, and the Kelowna Museums Society is inviting the public to celebrate with it.

The Okanagan Heritage Museum, located at 470 Queensway Ave., will be conducting a spring scavenger hunt. It’s a self-guided hunt to find special objects hidden throughout the museum, and those who are able to find all the pieces will win a prize.

“Museums are exciting places,” KMS curatorial manager Amanda Snyder said in a press release. “They’re filled with fascinating stories that are vital to our understanding of the world. Our exhibits regularly change and we’re just about wrapping up a multi-year process that saw us overhaul our entire permanent gallery.

“If you haven’t stopped by in a while, we hope you’ll take the time to visit us this International Museum Day.”

The Okanagan Heritage Museum is currently hosting a temporary exhibit from the Royal BC Museum in Victoria. Birds of Prey showcases some of the interesting birds that are native to our region.

Admission to the museum is by donation.
