The median price of a two-bedroom apartment in Kelowna increased this month, but it is still less than it was a year ago at this time.

Padmapper, an apartment rental website, crunched the numbers and found the median price for a two-bedroom flat in Kelowna this month to be $1,640, which is a 2.5 per cent increase from March but down 0.6 per cent from last year at this time.

The same can’t be said for one-bedroom apartments in Kelowna, as the median price in April is $1,320. That makes it the seventh most expensive Canadian city in which to rent an apartment. While the one-bedroom median price held steady from March, it is a 14.8 per cent increase over April 2018.

Toronto and Vancouver continue to have the most expensive rent in the country.

The report analyzed hundreds of thousands of listings last month to examine rent prices across the 24 largest cities in the country.
