The Summerland Chamber of Commerce has opened nominations for its 81st annual Business Excellence Awards.

The awards aim to recognize the best of local business through 12 categories. While nominees will come from the public, the chamber says the award winners will be determined after a “conversational-style interview” with a three-person panel.

“It was really important to return subjectivity to the process,” chamber executive director David D. Hull said. “The awards are not a popularity contest.  We are looking to identify businesses, individuals, and organizations who excel in their field. At the end of the interviews the panel will determine the recipient.”

The 2019 award will culminate with a gala on March 30 at the Centre Stage Theatre.

The chamber is encouraging residents to nominate great businesses or the entrepreneurs themselves to put their name forward through self-nominations.

“If your organization is excellent, please let the Chamber know,” said Hull.

Additional information and the nomination forms can be found online or by contacting Lisa at the Chamber office at 250-494-2686.
