The Lower Mainland is about to get its very first legal cannabis storefront.

Evergreen Cannabis in Vancouver announced this week it has received final provincial approval to reopen its Kitsilano shop at 2868 4th Ave. West.

The store says it will open on Saturday, making it the fourth such privately run cannabis store in B.C. There are two private stores already operating in Kimberley, one in Pouce Coupe as well as the government-run shop in Kamloops.

There are no legal stores currently operating in the Okanagan, but local governments in Lake Country and Summerland have both approved a storefront for each community.

It’s not clear which will open first, as the provincial government must issue final approval.
