Four Okanagan businesses have cracked semifinal lists for the 16th annual Small Business BC Awards.

Oliver’s Munday Media & Design, Kelowna’s Geotility Geothermal Installations, Vernon’s MQN Architecture and Interior Design and Grindrod’s Okanagan RAWSOME made the top 10 lists of their respective categories.

Nearly 600 businesses were nominated for this year’s awards, which recognize the outstanding achievements of local entrepreneurs, and semifinal spots were reserved for 10 businesses in 10 categories.

Munday Media & Design is up for the premier’s people’s choice award, Geotility Geothermal Installations Corporation is a semifinalist for best apprentice training, Okanagan RAWSOME is in the best community impact category, and MQN Architecture and Interior Design is a semifinalist for the best employer.

The semifinalists will have one month to provide a detailed application as to why they deserve to win the award for which they’ve been nominated. The top five finalists in each category will be named on Jan. 21, and the winners will be announced at the Small Business BC Awards Gala at Vancouver Convention Centre on Feb. 21.

Each winner will receive $1,500, a one-year, and an all-access pass to Small Business BC education and experts.
