After a successful first year, Denim on the Diamond is set to take over Kelowna’s King Stadium once again in 2019.

More than 3,000 people took to the stadium on Sept. 1 to see nine musical acts, including Kelowna’s own country artist Chad Brownlee.

On Thursday, co-founder of the event Mitch Carefoot announced five of the artists performing at the stadium on Aug. 31, 2019.

The Juno and Canadian Country Music Association award-winning James Barker Band will be headlining the 2019 event, along with Kelowna’s own Lucky Monkey and Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer out of Vancouver.

Additionally, country singer Madeline Merlo from Maple Ridge and Calgary’s Leaving Thomas will take to the stage under the Okanagan summer sun.

“One thing we really love to do is get together with friends over food, drinks and live music,” said Carefoot in a press release. “So we thought, why not host a festival in one of the most beautiful cities in the world to support local businesses, artists and further connect the community?”

Early bird tickets for the 2019 event went on sale Thursday and cost $60.
