Kelowna rental rates rise

Rental rates in Kelowna went up in October for both one- and two-bedroom apartments.

The city remains the eighth most expensive place in Canada to rent a one-bedroom unit, according to numbers released Monday by PadMapper.

The average price of a one-bedroom increased 3.4 per cent from September to $1,210 in October, while a two-bedroom apartment increased two per cent to an average mark of $1,550.

Compared to last year, the average price of a one-bedroom apartment has increased eight per cent. The two-bedroom unit cost, meanwhile, decreased 2.5 per cent since October 2017.

Toronto remains the most expensive city in Canada to rent an apartment. One-bedrooms are $2,230 per month, while two-bedrooms check in at $2,830.
