Okanagan Valley musicians won’t have to go far for a world-class guitar.

Fender last week opened up a retail space inside Wentworth Music, located at 1634 Harvey Ave., that is dedicated to its guitars. The goal is to “help players at all levels freely choose their next Fender guitar, spark creativity and further connect Fender” with Kelowna.

Mayor Colin Basran, city councillor Ryan Donn and chamber of commerce president Carmen Sparg were on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was also attended by Kelowna singer-songwriter Megan Nash.

“I am so thrilled that Fender is supporting a local shop where people can come in and try the gear and talk to knowledgeable staff,” Kelowna musician Jonathan Parnell said in a press release. “The space really allows you to get involved and find your avenues of expression.”
