Thieves hurt business

A small family business is left without power for its food truck after thieves made off with a generator while they were sleeping.

Jessica Sato says they left the generator in a locked vehicle that tows their small food truck. They believe the generator was stolen on Oct. 5, about 3:30 a.m.

Sato, co-owner of the Little Tokyo Ramen Trailer, says the theft is a blow to the business.

“We had two gentlemen that came down Water Street. We have them on surveillance,” she said.

According to her, the men were able to get into the vehicle, place the generator onto a trailer attached to a bike and take off with it.

“We use that generator to power our little Boler food trailer several times a month,” she said.

The colder months will now pose a challenge for the business.

“We have to think about other ways now that we can power our trailer at big events that will be coming up,” she said.

Sato said the Honda 3000i generator’s serial number is: EZGF-1547509 and it has a distinguishable sticker on it.

“Having a generator in the winter time, while you are trying to run a very small trailer, is very important, and now we don’t have that to fall back on.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP.
