Kelowna International Airport is taking part in Canadian Airports Safety Week to promote healthy and safe work practices among employees.

All airport staff, whether they work in the terminal or on the airfield, will have a chance to take part in safety-themed activities and events throughout the week.

“At Kelowna International Airport, every team member makes it his or her priority to ensure the airport remains safe, secure and operational,” YLW airport director Sam Samaddar said in a press release. “We value our employees and it’s important that they return home safely at the end of every shift. Safety Week is just one way we are working to keep safety top of mind.”

Employees need to be safety conscious at YLW, because it is getting busier all the time. It is the 11th busiest airport in the country, serving 1.89 million passengers in 2017.
