FortisBC’s natural gas customers won’t be seeing an increase on their October bill.

The company received approval from the British Columbia Facilities Commission to maintain the cost. More than 58 per cent of B.C. households use natural gas as their primary heating source.

“Natural gas prices in our province continue to remain near their lowest levels in over a decade and our natural gas customers have not seen a rate increase in two years,” FortisBC vice-president of regulatory affairs Diane Roy said in a press release. “The preference for natural gas is reflected by our continued customer growth.”
