August was the busiest month ever at Kelowna International Airport.
YLW had 201,485 passengers pass through its doors during the month.
In 2017, August was also the busiest month, with 179,153 passengers, but this year jumped out way ahead.
Last year saw a total of 1,893,470 passengers come to the airport, and this year that number is already 1,400,055, before the big winter travel season hits.
In YLW’s master plan, the airport forecasts an additional three per cent growth in 2018 over 2017.
The airport is one of the single largest economic drivers for jobs and revenues in the Southern Interior, with a total economic impact of 4,545 jobs and $789 million in total economic output.
