If you like bacon, you can eat lots of it and support the Boys and Girls Club of the Central Okanagan at the same time.

The third annual Great Canadian Bacon Chase will be held Sunday, Sept. 16, at Kelowna’s Parkinson Recreation Centre. Organizers are billing it as consumers and enthusiasts coming together “for a morning of bacon, a five-kilometre walk or run, bacon, a pancake breakfast and more bacon.”

Tickets will get you unlimited bacon, three food inspired bacon stations along the run route, a pancake breakfast and games at the finish line. The food providers will include Artisto Gelato, Chef Ross Derrick and Masterchef Canada 2018 winner Beccy Stables. Chef Melissa Masters will whip up the pancakes.

For those not wanting to walk or run the five kilometres, they can walk the 164 feet from the Parkinson parking lot to the “pig pen,” where all the bacon they can eat will be waiting.

To purchase tickets, visit the Great Canadian Bacon Chase website.
