Okanagan hotel rooms pricey

Kelowna and Penticton have cracked the top 10 list of most expensive hotel rooms in Canada, according to a recent survey.

Cheaphotels.org compared hotel rates of 30 Canadian destinations for the month of August, and Kelowna checked in at No. 8 with an average price of $221 per night for its cheapest available double room.

Penticton tied with Victoria for 10th on the list with an average price of $184.

Banff is the most expensive destination thanks to an average cost of $336, while Edmonton came in at No. 30 at $98 a night.
