The Mamma Mia musical will be helping out Mamas of a different kind next month.
Kelowna Actors Studio will perform the well-known production from Thursday, Aug. 2 to Saturday, Aug. 11 at Kelowna Community Theatre, and $1 from every ticket sold will be donated to Mamas for Mamas, a local charity that helps young families get through tough economic times.
There will also be a special sing-a-long performance on Tuesday, Aug. 7, for those wanting to belt out ABBA’s songs.
Award-winning jazz vocalist Anna Jacyszyn will star as the mother of the bride, while Sidney Cummings will play the bride. Other members of the cast include Delphine Litke, Laura Lebbon, Desmond Parenteau, Nathan Flavel, Andrew DePieri, Vinny Keats, Kurt Werner, Jerome Laroche, Julia Chambers and Celeste Catena.
Randy Leslie will direct the performance, and Jennifer Davies will serve as the choreographer.
Tickets are $52 and can be purchased online.
