Nomadic Bannock is doing what it can to give back to the firefighters who have been busy keeping Okanagan residents and their property safe during wildfire season.

The business is going to set up its mobile food trailer tonight next to the firefighters’ camp in West Kelowna, which is in the empty field next to the A&W located at 3640 Gellatly Rd., and will be providing free food to those who are fighting the fire.

“This is an opportunity to not only give back to the firefighters for what they have done for us summer after summer, but a teachable moment for our kids who help run our business,” Nomadic Bannock owner Lana Donaldson said. “It’s not always about making money. This could be a good example to be set for other people in the community who would like to give back but don’t know how, and we are hoping it will start a pay-it-forward train.”
