A record number of passengers went through Kamloops Airport in May and June, resulting in the facility’s best second quarter.

The number of travellers in this year’s three-month period improved 4.2% over last year, and so far in 2018 there has been a 5.3% passenger increase.

The growth has been aided by the daily WestJet flight to Calgary that started May 1 as well as Air Canada Rouge’s direct service to Toronto that took off June 21.

There were 77,389 passengers who used Kamloops Airport during the second quarter, bringing this year’s total to 170,311.
