Visland Media has added some muscle to the top of its company.

The Kelowna television production and distribution company has hired Mike Rizzo as its new chief operating officer. Rizzo joins Visland after more than 25 years in senior management at Costco

Wholesale, but he also has professional wrestling experience as a promoter and performer.

Rizzo co-founded Invasion Championship Wrestling in 2013 and has been promoting semi-annual events in Kelowna and Vernon. ICW has raised more than $150,000 for local charities over the last five years.

“Visland’s innovative approach to the industry is what excited me the most about joining this company,” Rizzo said in a press release. “We’re poised to be a leader in this field. I look forward to helping bring Visland Media to the next level locally, nationally and internationally.”

Added CEO Alex Miller: “We are delighted to have Mike Rizzo with his extensive experience join the team as COO. I am sure his dynamic leadership will have a positive effect on Visland Media.”
