The annual Kelowna Wine Country Half Marathon will take place more than two months earlier this year to coincide with the outdoor festival season.
The fifth iteration of the unique event will take place on June 23, rather than the Labour Day long weekend like previous years.
The half marathon, along with a five-kilometre option this year, begins at Vibrant Vines Winery at 7 a.m. and finishes at Waterfront Park.
Following the run, a post-race wine and music festival will take place at Waterfront Park until noon.
“We have 15 wineries, breweries and cideries taking part in the post-race celebrations, as well as a food truck, local vendors and interactive games,” said Christina Ferreira, organizer of the event.
As with previous years, the half marathon plans to donate more than $6,000 to local charities.
