Bridge removal delayed

Dismantling of Victoria’s old Johnson Street Bridge has been delayed until June.

A new replacement opened in March, and the old span was to be removed this month, but the Dynamic Beast crane barge won’t be available until June 8.

During removal of the old blue swing bridge, there will likely be traffic delays, project managers advise.

Crews will begin cutting the concrete deck off the east side approach this week, with the work taking about two weeks.
