Spring is in the air and the Vernon Farmer’s Market is getting ready to return for the year.

The popular market will once again set up in the parking lot of Kal Tire Place starting Thursday, April 19.

The 2018 season will mark the 39th year for the market that features numerous items from local growers and craftspeople.

Ingrid Baron, market manager, said the markets feature everything from vegetables to baked goods to knitted items and more.

At its peak in the summer, the market will feature some 150 vendors and will attract thousands of people over the course of the season.

“We’re a make it, bake it, grow it market,” said Baron, explaining everything on sale has to be made by the person that is selling it.

There are no big box stores and 90 per cent of the vendors are from the North Okanagan.

“We are excited to announce that we will be showcasing local liquor vendors offering samples and packaged liquor for sale,” said Baron.

The market will be held every Monday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine.
