Socializing and memories

Congratulations to Jason Boyer, as he is the new the owner of Xchange Kelowna.

Xchange is small and lively lounge. Everything Jason does is to encourage socializing and creating memories for friends and family.

If you haven’t been to Xchange yet, know that it is different because the kitchen is in the heart of the restaurant and they will smoke anything, even their drinks.

It is their smoked wings that has made their Monday night football events the place to be. Your vegan won’t need to worry because they smoke cauliflower and prepare it the same way they do their wings.

I think the cauliflower is better than their wings, but you can decide for yourself next Monday.

Xchange is the recipient of the 2017 certificate of excellence from Trip Advisor, so make a reservation before heading in.

They cater, accept large groups and host events throughout the year, so check out their website.
Mel Breitkreutz and Chelsea Harrison of HIITit.ca are changing things up and bringing the HIITit community all together for a night of fun.

These successful working moms have been featured on Castanet many times, they have been on TV and so many other publications for their commitment to health and fitness.
Scenic Road Cider Co is excited to be hosting Appleooza again this Saturday.

This is where B.C.’s cideries come together and allow us to taste all their great creations over the year.

Visit their Facebook page to see who’s coming. Food trucks will be on site serving food pairings, too.
I don’t know how I missed this one, but it sounds fun.

The Freaken Farmer Obstacle Adventure Race is this Saturday morning at Covert Farms.

They say that there is a Freaken Farmer in all of us, so visit their Facebook page to see all their options for people of all ages to compete.

There will be a farm to table organic feast with Okanagan beer and wine. The after party will also have live music too.
John Skinner of Painted Rock Winery will be hosting their Harvest Dinner Oct. 7.

He has welcomed Ben Pallet of Kitchen Sync Catering to prepare a delicious and hardy fall meal paired with their best wines.

You’ve seen me rave of Ben before and it is because his philosophy is to achieve balance and synchronization in his food by growing and harvesting many of his own ingredients.

Event transportation is available as well, so visit their website to find out how to purchase tickets.
The fourth Annual Strong Community Family Fest is being held at the Parkinson Recreation Centre tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There will be face painters, rock-climbing wall, photo booth, balloon twisters, clowns, classic games, swimming pool access passes, crafts, and a free barbecue.

Go on down and join the fun and bring your friends.
If you’re still looking for something to do this weekend, you can go and cheer on the participants of The Marathon of Sport in City Park this Saturday, attend HopScotch which has a craft brewing section this year or head over to the Rockets home opener.

Lastly remember the Change of Command Parade happens this Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Make it a great week!
