Name: Danielle Scheven.

What business or organization are you involved with? Carolily Finery.

What is your role with that organization? Co-founder and President.

What’s your favourite thing about living in the Okanagan? My favourite thing about living in the Okanagan is the sense of community and connection, especially among small business owners. There’s nothing I love more than being able to collaborate with other businesses and learn more about them and their company.

If you could have lunch with anyone in the world, who would you choose and why? If I could have lunch with anyone I would love to do so with Coco Chanel. She was a major inspiration to us when creating our company and blazed the way for women’s fashion.

What’s your go-to happy place? My go-to happy place, as unexciting as it may be, is the gym. I love starting my day with a weight lifting session. It not only make me feel strong and capable, but gets my morning off to a fabulous start!

What are you most proud of? I am most proud of the community work that my Mom (my business partner) and I do through Carolily. We believe in inspiring and empowering others and helping them to lead more beautiful lives. We give back to a number of charities and do our best to leave the community better than when we found it.

What are the top three things on your bucket list?
My top three bucket list items:
– Sky diving;
– Visiting every continent;
– Having Carolily named one of the top Canadian companies.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten? The weirdest thing I have ever eaten was fried alligator down in Florida.

Latest movie or book? I am currently working my way through Eckhart Tolle’s A New Earth- Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose.

What’s the best gift you’ve ever received? The best gift I have ever received was a trip to New York and Florida with my Mom after I graduated UBC. Aside from being two of my favourite places to visit, it was three weeks that I got to spend with my best friend!

If today were your last day, how would you spend it? If today were my last day, I would want to spend it with my family. I have always been very close with my parents and younger brother and couldn’t imagine spending my last day with anyone else.
