A British Columbia hotel chain is offering half-priced rooms to anyone evacuated from their homes because of wildfires.
Vancouver-based Coast Hotels says evacuees can call its central reservations line, at 1-800-716-6199, to book a room at any of its participating hotels.
Hotels from Kelowna and Prince George, to Whitehorse and Edmonton are offering up the special rate.
Evacuees need only bring proof of their residential identification from an affected area to qualify for the B.C fires disaster rate, but they must book through the central reservations line.
“Our hearts go out to all residents and families who are impacted by the wildfires burning in B.C.,” the company said in a statement. “We hope we can ease the burden even a little with this special rate.”
The rooms are subject to availability, and not eligible for Coast Rewards points, partner points or mileage.
