A food fight unlike any other is about to take place in Kelowna, as two Okanagan chefs duke it out in a culinary competition fit only for the underground.
Chefs Chris Braun of Micro Kelowna and James Holmes of Craft Corner Kitchen will go knife-to-knife July 17 at BattleApps Kelowna, one of a series of national cooking competitions presented by Underground Chef Company and McCain Foodservice.
BattleAppsis an eight-city “battle series” that’s crisscrossing the country challenging chefs to throw down using McCain products in new and creative ways.
When Braun and Holmes meet to face off at Krafty Kitchen + Bar next Monday, each will be asked to create a culinary masterpiece using six secret ingredients, including three McCain products.
The two will battle in front of a live audience for cash prizes, and the glory of impressing the panel of “industry leaders” judging their dishes.
The event is open to the public, and you bet there will be free samples on hand.
Tickets to BattleApps Kelowna are $15, and are available, along with more information online.
