The Thompson-Okanagan chapter of Advocis won a high honour late last month, when it took home the coveted Totem Pole award at the National Chapter Leadership Conference for Advocis.
Advocis, The Financial Advisors Association of Canada, is the largest voluntary professional membership association of financial advisors and planners in Canada, with more than 12,000 members organized in 40 chapters across Canada.
The Totem Pole Award is awarded based on points each chapter accumulates throughout the year in the categories of membership, program, education, advocacy, communication/public awareness and fellowship.
At conference, which ran from June 26-29, the Thompson-Okanagan chapter of Advocis tied for first place, and was handed The Totem Pole Award along with a chapter from Ontario.
“I am super proud of the hard work and dedication of the Thompson Okanagan board. We set out a plan back in 2015 as I began my presidency term and we went from No. 17 to No. 1 in those two short years. Planning really does pay off,” said chapter president, Caroline Radics.
Radics added that the win was especially meaningful because it was the result of a team effort from the entire board of the local chapter, which is made of volunteer advisors from around the Okanagan area.
