More than half a dozen Okanagan businesses are among the best outdoor dining restaurants in Canada, according to a list released today by OpenTable.

OpenTable, an online restaurant reservation service, released its 100 Best Outdoor Dining Restaurants in Canada for 2017 today, and the Okanagan Valley stood up impressively against the rest of the country.

From Kelowna, Hotel Eldorado’s Lakeside Dining Room and Quails’ Gate Estate Winery’s Old Vines Restaurant both made the list.

Across the bridge, 19 Okanagan Grill + Bar and The Terrace at Mission Hill both represented West Kelowna among the top 100.

Even establishments further south were given the nod. Penticton’s Hillside Winery and Bistro, the Sonora Room Restaurant at Oliver’s Burrowing Owl Estate Winery, and the bistro at Liquidity Wines in Okanagan Falls also made the list.

A spot on OpenTable’s Top 100 outdoors dining restaurants is a high honour, as the list is generated entirely from more than 515,000 restaurant reviews collected from verified OpenTable diners.

Every single restaurant with a minimum “overall” score and number of qualifying reviews was included for consideration, and qualifying restaurants were then scored and sorted according to the percentage of reviews for which “great for outdoor dining” was selected as a special feature.

Including restaurants with multiple locations, Ontario has the greatest number of restaurants featured with 44, but B.C. wasn’t’ far behind, with 27.
