A pair of Okanagan bike shops will co-sponsor an International Female Ride Day event this weekend.
Kelowna’s MotoVide Cycle and Beaverdell’s Red Rock Garage will host a ride May 6, as women from across the world get together to celebrate their love of all things motorbike.
International Female Ride Day is an event that sees thousands of women from around the world hop on their bikes and ride in solidarity with one another.
It aims to break down gender stereotypes in the community, and empower more women to get involved.
The event’s theme, “Just Ride,” encourages women to simply get out on their bikes and be visible.
In the Okanagan May 6, a large group of riders will join their peers from around the world as they take to the streets for an organized ride.
Starting at 10 a.m. from MotoVida Cycle, on 1254 Ellis St., the riders will take a two-hour trip through the valley, ending with prizes at MotoVida at noon.
