Kelowna’s newest taxi company paired green with green when it held its official launch at the Best Western Plus Kelowna Hotel and Suites.

Current Taxi, which sports a fleet of all-electric Tesla cars, officially launched last month in front of Best Western’s bank of Tesla supercharger stations.

Dale Conway, the company’s owner, said the hotel also houses the taxi company’s head office.

“This Best Western has long been known for its sustainability and that’s what drew us to this hotel—for both the launch and our corporate office,” Conway said.

Brenda Rayburn, a Best Western representative said the pairing makes sense because of the alignment of companies’ “visions, values and sustainability goals,” as well as the hotel’s bank of electric vehicle chargers.

“Our environmental mission statement is to do everything economically feasible to keep our air, water and earth safe and clean for future generations. Current Taxi shares our sus-

tainability vision in addition to our commitment to exceeding customer expectations in product quality and service excellence. They are the real deal and we are very excited for them,” Rayburn added.

Current Taxi offers its passengers trips in electric cars for the same price as the city’s traditional taxi services, with the ability to book trips through the company’s mobile app.
