The provincial government has handed Tinhorn Creek Vineyards in Oliver $25,000 to help with marketing.

The funding is a part of $456,193 distributed to 15 B.C. wineries and breweries for Buy-Local initiatives, advertising campaigns and other promotions.

“The Okanagan Valley is famous for its wine, and the wine created at Tinhorn Creek Vineyards, located on the Golden Mile Bench, is full of B.C. flavours,” MLA Linda Larson said in a release. “Thanks to government programs like Buy Local, funding is supporting local agrifood companies in reaching new audiences and new markets all over the province.”

Tinhorn Creek will use the money to launch a campaign to promote a new wine and host tasting events. The company has been producing wines in the Okanagan since 1993.

Also announced today, Pacific Western Brewing in Prince George, the company behind the Cariboo Brewing brand, received $30,844 to market one of its new products.
