More hospitality industry jobs are up for grabs next week as WorkBC hosts a job fair at the Coast Capri Hotel in Kelowna.

At least 11 employers will be at the fair, ready to conduct on-the-spot interviews for a host of open positions. Major employers like the Holiday Inn, Prestige Hotels and Lake City Casinos will be among the employers looking for new talent.

WorkBC employment services representatives will also be on hand to help job seekers prep for success by helping with application forms, checking over resumes and posing pre-interview questions to get them warmed up.

Scott Sherwood, the provincial director with Maximus Canada, which administers local WorkBC services, also encourages job seekers to prepare for the event by utilizing the drop-in services available at the three local WorkBC locations.

“What we know is that starting a job is very challenging for some people because of lack of resources.  It can be hard to get the required clothes and shoes before the first pay cheque, so at here at WorkBC, we can assist people with the costs associated with starting a job,” he says.

“Access to computers, printers, and our skilled resource room navigators, who are able to assist individuals in resume editing and formatting, are just some of the services people can find at WorkBC,” he adds.

The hiring fair will run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Coast Capri Hotel banquet room on Wednesday, March 29. For more information visit WorkBC’s website.  www.workbckelowna.ca
