The Penticton and Wine Country Chamber of Commerce and Winecrish have teamed up for a new event aimed at promoting good, local food and helping charity.

During the Winecrush Restaurant Week, which is taking place in  the Penticton area from Feb 17-26, local restaurants are showcasing some of their best, locally sourced menu items and donating proceeds from their sales to local charities.

Most of the participating restaurants are offering a multi-course prix fixe menu, allowing diners to mix and match from a selection of three to four appetizers, four to five entrees, and two to three deserts.

Along with giving to charity, the event will allow local chefs to feature new trial menu items, showcase local food products and attract new guests.

This year’s inaugural event is supporting three local charities: The Chamber Business Scholarship, Penticton Breakfast Club, and South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation.

All proceeds will be donated equally, including the $100 restaurant participation fee and the event sponsorships.

For more information and a list of participating restaurants visit the Winecrush website.
