British Columbia’s first all-electric taxi fleet is officially opening in Kelowna Feb. 24.
Current Taxi Ltd. is the region’s newest transportation service, and it’s taking on the taxi business with a new twist.
Locally owned and operated, the company aims to provide a “luxury car service” using environmentally friendly, Tesla vehicles.
“Our passion for offering the travelling public with a highly elevated, customer-centric transportation option is only equaled by our commitment to do so in the most environmentally responsible manner possible,” the company says.
And in some good news for the environmentally conscious commuter, fares through the service will cost the same as other services in the region.
On Feb. 24 the company will host its official ribbon cutting, and give potential passengers a peek at the new rides.
The event will take place at 3 p.m. at the Best Western Plus Kelowna Hotel and Suites.
