Tired of your job? Just don’t feel like working?

Apparently, you’re not alone.

A survey by job site Monster Canada found B.C. workers are the least motivated in the country.

Twenty-seven per cent of B.C. respondents reported being unmotivated at work, compared to a national average of 22 per cent.

The Prairies are where the keeners are. The most motivated workers were in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, with 84 per cent feeling motivated. Nationally, that number was 76 per cent, compared to 70 per cent in B.C.

In a nod to grey power, senior workers (over 65) were the most motivated (85 per cent), and women beat out the men men (79 per cent to 74).

British Columbians were also pessimistic about ever landing their “dream job.” Forty-four per cent don’t think it will ever happen, compared to the national average of 35 per cent.

Younger workers (18 to 34) were more likely to feel unmotivated (28 per cent), but were also the most optimistic, with 60 per cent of millennials believing they’ll find that dream job in the next five years.

About one-fifth of B.C. respondents said they love what they do. Only three per cent said they love their boss.
