The nominees are in, and now it’s time to determine which of them are the best.

The Kelowna Chamber of Commerce’s 2019 Business Excellence Awards received 116 nominations for 12 awards that will be handed out at the event’s gala on Nov. 1 at Delta Hotel by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort.

“The Business Excellence Awards are an outstanding pathway for recognizing achievement in our community,” chamber president Nikki Csek said in a press release. “As a past award winner, I know that it not only feels great to be recognized for your hard work in front of your peers, but it is a great opportunity to boost your business’s profile.”

A panel of independent judges will now evaluate all the nominees and determine the finalists in each of the 12 categories. The finalists will be announced during a luncheon at Coast Capri Hotel on Oct. 3. The panel members will visit the finalists’ businesses and then determine the winners.

“This year’s theme marks a broader look at where we are as a community,” Csek said. “Kelowna isn’t just a big player in the region or even in the province. National and international companies are setting up shop here and local businesses are expanding their reach across the world.

“And this is our 32nd year of highlighting local companies and organizations, which demonstrate excellence in providing products and services of value right here in our hometown.”
